Christmosas – Bubbly and Delish!

One of my favorite things to do is to try out new recipes, I get a lot of them from social media sharing pages and save them for later to try.  About a week before Christmas I came across a recipe from delish.com for “Christmosas”.  I am a huge fan of signature drinks served at events and holidays, ( News Flash – If you are a hosting any sort of holiday/party and you aren’t serving a signature cocktail, you’re doing it wrong!)  so when I came across this recipe I just knew I had to try it out for Christmas Day, and it did not disappoint!

The fruit made for beautiful bold colors of the season, and the effervescence of the sparkling grape juice and champagne is like a happy little celebration on your tongue.

While the recipe I used from delish was great, I needed to alter it as I was serving to more people than the original would provide, I used a half bottle of the Sparkling Grape Juice and added two cans of seltzer to cut out some of the sweetness.

Great Holiday Signature Drink!

INGREDIENTS

1C                 Pomegranate Seeds

1C                 Cranberries

1C                 Halved Green Seedless Grapes

2                   Diced Granny Smith Apples

1/2btl          Sparkling Grape Juice

1btl             Brut Champagne

1-2 Cans    Seltzer

DIRECTIONS

  1. Combine fruit in a pitcher
  2. Right before serving, top the fruit with Sparkling Grape Juice, Champagne and Seltzer.

Tip: I used seltzer to cut down on some of the sweetness of the grape juice without cutting out volume.  This is a preference as I tend to get headaches from sweet champagne.  If you are a fan of sweeter drinks, then use a whole bottle of the grape juice and cut out the seltzer
